Please share a memory of Nema to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Nema Williams Duffey, 92, of Doniphan, MO, passed away June 30, 2024, at Randolph County Nursing Home, surrounded by her family. Nema was born October 30, 1931, in Middlebrook, Arkansas to the late Fred and Marie (Harman) Williams. She was united in marriage to Floyd Duffey on April 2, 1952. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2014. Together, they had two sons, Larry (Thresa) Duffey of Maynard Arkansas and Don (Cindy) Duffey of Doniphan, Missouri. They moved from Overland, Missouri, in 1961, after purchasing their farm where they enjoyed raising their sons, cattle, hogs, and gardening.

Nema had a deep love of sewing and created many beautiful quilts. She was known for her delicious chocolate cakes and homemade hot rolls. She was a member of Poynor First Baptist Church where she led the singing for many years and taught Sunday School class. After the Poynor church closed, they moved their membership to Emmanuel Baptist Church in Doniphan. She retired from Vitronic after 30 years of service. Nema cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and Gigi.  She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength that will live on through her family.

Nema is survived by her two sons, her sister Juanita Hamil of LaBelle, Florida, brother-in-law James Duffey of Doniphan, Missouri, three granddaughters, Cynthia (William) Dismang of El Paso, Arkansas, Leslie Brasser of Branson Missouri, and Natalie (Logan) Monahan of Van Buren, Missouri. Nema was very proud of her six great-grandchildren, Cole and Kylee Dismang, Blake and Bently Brasser, and Landon and Piper Kate Monahan, and many nieces and nephews. Nema was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Harman Williams, several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other family members she loved deeply.

Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff members of Colonial Home in Doniphan, Missouri and Randolph County Nursing Home in Pocahontas, Arkansas who contributed to Nema's care. Services will be held Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024, at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan, Missouri with Kevin Payne officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, with the funeral following at 2:00 PM. Nema will be laid to rest in the Poynor Cemetery.
