Obituary of DeAnna Gay Rogers
Deanna Gay Rogers, 57, of Memphis, TN departed this life Saturday, March 18, 2023. She was born July 16,1965 in Memphis, TN to Lillian (Mitchum) Phillips of Doniphan, MO and the late Ancil Bryant.
Deanna lived a happy and successful life. She loved her career and the people she worked with, and she had many close friends whom she loved sharing a laugh with. She enjoyed spending time with her mother, Louise, and her two sisters, Rhonda and Kim. Deanna could brighten a room with just her smile and find peace in even the most stressful situations. She was beloved by all who knew her.
She leaves her two children, Cody and Hannah, who were the light of her life. Deanna taught us all to remain strong, to have faith, and to keep smiling. She brought us joy and laughter her entire life and will continue to do so forever. We will hear her in the music she loved. We will see her in her daughter and her son. We will think of her when we’re drinking a white Russian, or when we’re playing scrabble, and we will love as she loved, wholeheartedly and without reservation. She will be missed eternally.
“Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.”
