Doug was everything most of us strive to be but fall short: loyal, honest, forgiving, understanding - just decent to the core. There aren’t enough words to praise this man. As said before and by many others, Doug was so, so funny. He always had a joke or three to tell EVERY DAY - but it soon happened that the real joke became Pam (me) didn’t get the joke! Then once Doug shared something very personal to him (he kept his private life well guarded) and that was how incredibly fortunate he was, even as he believed himself to be undeserving, that Judy came into his life and the love he had for her. Judy, you and Doug found each other later in life but shared many wonderful years. May the good memories comfort and sustain you. Much love to you and the family.

Doug was one of the greatest men that I had the privilege of knowing. He was my dad's best friend. They shared being in law enforcement together. You could always count on him for a laugh. He will be missed by all of us here on earth and welcomed with open arms by those already In heaven. Until we meet again..........

Tim & I are so very sorry to hear about the passing of Doug. We moved to the Doniphan area back in the summer of 2012. We met Doug shortly after at his shop. He was truly an Angel here on earth. Our thoughts & prayer are with Doug's family, not just right now...but for the coming days, weeks, months & years. Sincere sympathy to Judy and all the family! Had the privilege of working with Doug on the Ripley County Child Fatality Review Team for several years! He was a great professional to work with!
