I'm sorry about how late this is, I remember hearing about her passing last year and it truly broke my heart. Jo Reeta was someone with a tough outside who truly possessed a heart of gold on the inside. For me, working with her at Kroger, she was truly a mentor to me. She taught me good work ethic and respect. But most importantly, I considered her to be a good friend. I just wanted to let you know I think about you from time to time and really appreciate what you did for me. Thank you for making me better. I will never forget you.

I remember when I first started working at Kroger as a bagger and whenever Jo was working and asked me to do something I would always answer,”Yes, Ma’am !” She told me, “You don’t need to call me ma’am!” I kept doing it anyway and I think it drove her crazy, but it always makes me laugh when I think about this memory. One year for Easter she switched shifts for me so I could attend church and work that evening instead. She was so kind to do that.
