Dr. Fox was an amazing veterinarian; I loved working with him as my veterinarian for my kennel and cattery. He was there all hours of the day or night. I’ve came to him many times with a bulldog ready to have puppies bagging on his door at wee hours of the night many times and he always came down to take care of my babies. Rest in piece Dr. Fox

I feel blessed to have been fortunate enough to work around and get to know Doc personally.
He was my veterinarian for many years.
A few years ago, Doc gave me the greatest gift I could have ever received. He gave me the opportunity to start and build my grooming business in his clinic.
With this single, kind act, he enabled the birth and rapid growth of Rruff Kutz, which is now a successful business.
For me, this was the opportunity of a lifetime. For him, it was the opportunity to provide extended services for his clients and patients, and to help another animal lover begin her career.
One of my proudest moments, while working alongside him in his clinic, was the day he told me that I was “a member of his team; an asset to the clinic and the community.” I can’t describe how good that made me feel.
Doc taught me many things during the years that I worked around him. Things that were relevant and extremely beneficial to my work.
He also taught me many, many other things.
I truly enjoyed the many lengthy conversations we had about anything from music, to travel, to books, to people. We talked about everything, often laughing at each other’s comments or personal experiences.
He always showed genuine friendship and concern when things didn’t go quite right, as is often the way of life.
He was an extremely intelligent man with a big heart and a great sense of humor. He showed unfaltering love and concern for his friends, family and staff. He had a selfless personality and genuinely wanted to see other people be happy.
I will miss Doc and his warm smile. I will cherish the memories of those talks, lessons and opportunities for fun and laughter that we shared. And I will forever be grateful for the friendship and opportunity that he gave me.
He will always be a part of Rruff Kutz and the standard of care and compassion provided to its clients. His memory will be honored and kept alive within the salon for the entirety of its existence.
Farewell, dear friend. I already miss you. I hope to continue to make you proud of me. You will never be forgotten!

Gene was a wonderful person and I considered it a privilege to be able to call him my friend.
Hanging out with Gene, whether it was at "FoxFire," The KC Zoo, or KC RenFest, etc. was always a joyous time for me.
He always treated me like family and I will always remember the great times we had together.
My heart, love, and prayers goes out to his family and friends at this time.

I knew Gene for some years as a friend and as a vet. He was excellent in both capacities. As Director of the Ozark Foothills Regional Planning Commission, I secured Gene's appointment to our Board of Directors. He served there with distinction. He and I also participated in some exciting cattle roundups together. I remember him as a good man, a gentleman, and a scholar. I don't think you can give a man higher praise than that.

Dr. Fox was a very caring man and went out of his way, at all hours, to help anyone that needed care for their pets or even advice over the phone. It was obvious that he really cared about the animals and the owners feelings too. I was impressed with Dr. Fox from the first time I ever used his services.
The loss of Dr. Fox will be felt by many and for years to come.
My sincere condolences to his family.

Eugene, my cousin, was a sweet, intelligent, earnest, quirky little kid -- he rode a unicycle, played violin, kind of marched to the beat of his own drum. When his family moved to the country during his early teens, we got to see them on a more regular basis. Eugene and my brother Billy were the same age and close friends. He loved to come spend the night at our house. I always remember one Sunday night in particular. We had been to night services at church. After church on Sunday we always ate informally, leftovers from our Sunday lunch, soup, sandwiches, we put it all out and you kind of just got what you wanted. We often sat at the table for ages afterward and would usually get the giggles (this included my mom and oftentimes even my dad). Anyway that Sunday night was no different. I remember nothing about the night's conversation but I do remember Eugene literally rolling around on our kitchen floor, laughing hysterically with that high-pitched giggle, so common to the men in the Fox family. He was a loving, generous, caring young adult donating bone marrow to this brother and a positive force for all of his time on earth. Love you cousin, RIP, you have so earned it.

Roy Eugene Fox or Doc as I have always known him was my brother-in-law. Or as we called each other "Brother". We always enjoyed hanging out together whether it was at his home in Fairdealing, the clinic, his home in Columbia or an event that he would invite me to such as the annual "Howling at the Moon" He was always up for a challenge at his clinic and had many clients that thought the world of him for his compassion or dedication to his practice. He was one of the smartest people that I knew. Him and my mother always enjoyed each others company because they would play some kind of trivial pursuit to challenge each others minds. I could go on and on about him and how much many people including myself will miss him. I know that he is in a better place and that I will see him again. So until then Doc I hope that when you look down on me that you smile and say that I was your friend. Love and miss you brother.
