Obituary of Beverly Jenael Chimene

Beverly Jenael Chimene, 74-year-old resident of Briar, Missouri passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Beverly was born September 12, 1944 in Tulsa, OK to Edd and Sadah (Coleman) Hensley.

Mrs. Chimene worked many years at Wardrobe Cleaners in Collinsville, OK. She loved her puppies, Buddy and Dixie. She also enjoyed gardening, playing BINGO, and sitting on her front porch swing singing gospel songs. Beverly was of the Baptist faith.

On April 16, 1981 Beverly married Leon Chimene in Collinsville, OK. He preceded her in death December 18, 2009.

Surviving are three daughters: Arleen (Dennis) Herber of Poplar Bluff, Theresa Godenzi of Altamont, NY, and Shelia (Lawrence) Laurange of Briar; her brother, Larry Hensley of Collinsville, OK; sisters-in-law: Eileen Chimene Peavy and Darlene Chimene Forsyth; and her brother-in-law, Richard Chimene. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren: Salina, Cricket, Gary, Victoria, Eric, James, Andrew, Phillip, Charles, Jr., Karen, and Clinton; and 21 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Chimene was preceded in death by her sisters: Vera Barrett, Dorothy Smith, and Oleta Wilson; and brothers: William, James Ernest, and Donald Hensley.

Visitation for Beverly will be Tuesday June 4, 2019 at noon with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in the Shirley Cemetery.
