Obituary of Delois Faye Hunt

Delois Faye Hunt, 89 year old resident of Doniphan, MO departed this life Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. 

Mrs. Hunt was born February 14, 1930, in Ripley County, MO to the late Willie and Bessie Reed Yarber.  She had taught school for many years, beginning her career in the one room schoolhouses in Ripley County.  Delois was a very active and dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Doniphan, where she had served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years.  She also participated in the Democratic Women’s Group, enjoyed watching baseball, and loved traveling.

On January 20, 1955, in Gunnison, MS she was married to Nick “H.L.” Hunt, who preceded her in death November 30, 2004.

Surviving is one brother, Bill (Carmen) Yarber of St. Louis, MO; nephews Eric and Kyle (Molly) Yarber; and Grandniece Sadie Yarber.

Visitation for Mrs. Hunt will be Monday evening, March 18, 2019 from 5-8 PM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Doniphan with Pastor Monty Flanigan officiating.  Burial will follow in the New Home Cemetery in Tucker, MO.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund in Doniphan.
