Mrs Hunt was my 7th grade teacher at Mayflower School, Jasper County, Carthage, Mo in the late ‘50’s or early ‘60’s. I have always counted her as my favorite teacher. She taught me the love and enjoyment of reading. Mrs. Hunt often read to us from Grace Livingston Hill books. She read Dawn of the Morning to us and I knew then if I ever had a little girl her name would be Dawn. I have that daughter and the tradition continues with a granddaughter and niece. They each received that book when they they turned 13. I know she hadn’t been well and I am sure she is rejoicing in Heaven. She is one teacher that will always be remembered and loved by this former student.
