To Mr. Cates' Family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Your father, grandfather, great-grandfather will be missed by many people in this community. He was such a gentle friendly man.
I worked for a few years at H&R Block and I enjoyed his visit every year and looked forward to seeing him and catching up on his news while he waited.
He sure loved his family and loved talking about them and how much they meant to him. He was so happy he got to visit his grandson, I think, in Florida. He said they asked him to move there with them. He said he would have liked that but he didn't know what would become of his cattle.(He should just have called them pets. That's what they were to him.)
I truly don't believe The Lord ever created a kinder soul than was in Mr. Cates' body. It was a gift to know him and wish there were more like him in the world.
He must be so happy to be with his beloved Dessie. He loved her and missed her so much.
Always cherish his memory as he deserved. He was a terrific gentleman and I will miss him and his stories.
