Al Brittain Obituary

Alfred "Al" Harry "Sam" Brittain, 77, of Doniphan died Thursday January 29, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Mr. Brittain was born June 12, 1931, in Leadington, MO to the late Harry Alexander & Mamie Louise (Whaley) Brittain. He was a member of the Current River Baptist Church. Mr. Brittain was an owner/operator of a Dry Cleaner & enjoyed fishing and going to deer camp. Mr. Brittain served in the U.S. Army having served in the Korean Conflict. On June 18, 1952, he married Ina Finch in Pocahontas, Ark. She survives Other survivors include one son Barry Brittain of Doniphan, one daughter Sandy Pennington of Wickers AR; five grandchildren and spouses Chris & wife Stacy Pennington, Kevin & Brandi Brittain, and Scotty & Blair Pennington, Teri & Kevin Knight, and Kim & Brent Teater eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Sunday February 1, 2009 at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday February 2, 2009 at the funeral home with Bro. Wes Flaugh officiating. Burial will be at Doniphan City Cemetery.
