Lillie Elizabeth Slayton, 75, of Fairdealing died Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at Mark Twain Nursing Center in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Slayton was born December 15, 1933, in Lenox, MO born to the late Alvin & Cecil (Matlock) Dawson. She was a member of the Doniphan Church of God. Mrs. Slayton was a homemaker who was a member of Republican Women's Club & formerly served as election judge. On August 16, 1958, she married Glenn Slayton in St. Louis. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2000. Other survivors include two sons Tim Slayton and Terry & wife April Slayton both of Fairdealing; two sisters Lois Werner of St. Louis and Loretta & husband Chuck Hildreth of Cario; and two grandchildren Emily & Landon. Mrs. Slayton was preceded in death by her husband & parents and two sisters Lola Parker & Leta Edwards and one brother Lee Dawson. Visitation will be from noon Sunday February 1, 2009 at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Sunday February 1, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Larry Bashaw & Rev. Larry Earl officiating. Burial will be at Ward Cemetery.
