Alton Barnett, 79 year old resident of Doniphan, MO, died at his residence Friday, June 26, 2015. Mr. Barnett was born July 17, 1935 in Booneville, MS. He was a construction contractor and enjoyed watching westerns, hunting, and fishing.
He was married to Millie Pyles in Chicago, Illinois, and she survives.
Also surviving are 1 daughter, Charlotte Stewart and husband Tracy of Washington, D.C.; 1 sister, Vera Husley of Alabama; and several grand and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 2 step-sons, Harold and Jerry Kitchens; and 4 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 11:45 A.M. at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, MO. Visitation will be held from 10-11 A.M. Wednesday morning at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.
