Emma Eveleen (Whitwell) Foster, 74, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at the Ripley County Memorial Hospital in Doniphan. Mrs. Foster, daughter of James Elmon and Leecy Delena (Baumgardner) Whitwell, was born November 29, 1936, in Pine, Missouri. She was a certified nursing assistant. Mrs. Foster enjoyed quilting, fishing, reading, crossword puzzles and cooking. She was a member of the Oak Ridge Church of God. On May 2, 1975, she was married to Thomas Ervin Foster at Virburnum, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2009. Surviving are five children; Jeanette Lambert of Texas, Geneva Miller (and Danny), Sarah Elliott (and Garry E. Fraley) and James Smith (and Mary Ann Ater), all of Doniphan and Christine McKnight of Murray, Kentucky; three sisters, Arletta Orr (and Jimmie) and Carolyn Dale (and Jim) both of Doniphan and Sandra Rickert (and James) of China, Michigan; one brother, Willis Whitwell (and Brenda) of Doniphan; five step-children; Debby Evens and Damaris Givens, both of Piedmont, Missouri, Taresa Beckenbock of Arkansas, Jenny Robenson of Dallas, Texas, and Lee Foster of Chaffee, Missouri; and twenty-four grand-children and thirty-one great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Visitation will be held Saturday evening, May 14, 2011, from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow Sunday afternoon, May 15, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brothers Danny Miller and Bill Wiles officiating. Burial will be in the Foster Cemetery.
