Virginia Jonas Hodge, 87, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away Saturday evening, May 30, 2015, at her residence in rural Ripley County, Missouri.
Mrs. Hodge, daughter of the late Mon Their (M. T.) and Lizzie Lemonia (Allred) Jonas, was born December 7, 1927, in Dallas, North Carolina. She had been a business owner of Queen City Electric in Denver, Colorado.
Surviving are 3 sons: Prentice Hodge, Jeff Hodge and Ron Hodge, all of Doniphan; and one sister, Lucy Harney of Columbia, South Carolina.
Mrs. Hodge lived with leukemia for 18 years. And to show her appreciation to the medical community, she made the decision to donate her body to Washington University School of Medicine in hopes that her disease would be better understood and could, hopefully, help others who are battling this illness as well.
