Kenneth Wayne Greenwood, 74, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Saturday, January 10, 2009, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Mr. Greenwood was born September 25, 1934, in Warren, Arkansas. He was an electronics engineer and had worked for General Dynamics for 17 years. Mr. Greenwood enjoyed water skiing and scuba diving when he was younger and later in life he enjoyed hunting and raising cattle. He was in the U. S. Air Force from 1955 - 1962 and served in Saudi Arabia in air rescue operations. He was a member of the Farm Service Agency in Ripley and Carter counties from 1988 - 2006 and was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Greenwood formerly lived in Warren, Arkansas, Kansas City, Missouri, and Ft. Worth, Texas. He moved to Doniphan in 1975 to raise cattle. On February 28, 1956, he was married to Beulah Mae Pierce in Warren, Arkansas. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Greg Greenwood and his wife, Elizabeth, of Doniphan; one sister, Patricia Ann Stafford of Port Hueneme, California; and one grandchild, Jonathan Wayne Greenwood. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Clarence and Anna Greta (Sullivan) Greenwood, one brother, Charles Leon Greenwood, and one sister, Wanda Pauline Somervell. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, January 13, 2008, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Wednesday morning, January 14, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Lynn Ham officiating. Burial will be in the Elizabeth Cemetery.
