Eunice Hufstedler Hurt, 94, of Pomona, Missouri, died Saturday, December 20, 2008, at the Brookhaven HealthCare in West Plains, Missouri.
Mrs. Hurt was born February 6, 1914, at Bennett, Missouri. She was a housewife and former schoolteacher. Mrs. Hurt enjoyed crocheting and knitting and was a member of the Southern Baptist Church.
On May 1, 1936, she was married to John Henry Hurt in Bennett. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2007.
Mrs. Hurt is survived by four children; John Alan Hurt of Pomona and his wife, Bonnie, Samual Russel Hurt of Apache Junction, Arizona, Virginia Marilyn Belk of Albuequerque, New Mexico, and Judy Hurt Fite and husband, Don, of Olathe, Colorado; three sisters, Grace Rohlfs of Boaz, Alabama, Bess Green of Doniphan, Missouri, and Virginia Pulliam of St. Louis; one brother, John Hufstedler of Fulton, Missouri; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Pheni Ollar Hufstedler, and two brothers, Horace Hufstedler and S. R. Hufstedler.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening, December 23, 2008, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Wednesday morning, December 24, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Doniphan with Bro. Bob Featherston officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Cemetery.
