James Howard Jones, 81, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Monday, December 15, 2008, at the John J. Pershing VA Hospital in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Mr. Jones was born July 31, 1927, in Leachville, Arkansas. He worked in the construction business with heavy equipment and was a Master Mason and a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church. Mr. Jones was retired from the military serving with the U.S. Navy during the Korean and Vietnam wars.
On September 29, 2003, he was married to Wilma A. Catarina in the Phillipines. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, one son and one brother.
He was preceded in death by two sons and his parents, Laymon and Edith Maxine (Allison) Jones.
Visitation for Mr. Jones will be Wednesday evening, December 17, 2008, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Thursday morning, December 18, 2008, at 9:00 a.m. at the St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Doniphan with Fathers Coon and Kassulke officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Benedict's Catholic Cemetery.
