Obituary of Maudie O'Neal

Maudie Alice O'Neal, 74, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at her residence in rural Ripley County.
Mrs. O'Neal, daughter of David Earl and Mary Alice (Belcher) Hastings, was born July 25, 1940, in Doniphan. She had been a caregiver in the healthcare profession. In her later years, she became a full-time housewife. Mrs. Maudie enjoyed crocheting and sewing and was a member of the Church of Christ. Her greatest love was being with her children and grandchildren.
On August 15, 1955, she married John Phillip O'Neal in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and he preceded her in death on September 22 2012.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet (Dennis) Portwood and Brenda Jaques, both of Doniphan; one son, Randy O' Neal (Karen) of Doniphan; one sister Melba (Rod) Dickson; one brother David Hastings; grandchildren, Christy Kennon, Camillia Kennon (and fiance', Josh White), Brianna Jaques (Daniel Matthews), Faith Jaques (Thomas Hart), Regina (Kyle) Armour, Jason (Amber) O'Neal, Clayton O'Neal, Miranda O'Neal, Denny Portwood, Ashley (Matthew) Hudson, Roy "Spud" (Amber) Schrimsher and Matthew (Erin) Schrimsher; and great-grandchildren, Cassey Rainbolt, Dillon Leroux, Lucas Armour, Dakota Armour, Hunter Hudson, Khyla Schrimsher, Paishence Schrimsher, Makenzie Schrimsher, Roy Schrimsher, Mason Schrimsher, Faith Schrimsher, Ben Ruhl, Luke Ruhl, Myla Schrimsher, Mattilynn Schrimsher, Adysyn Nicole Hudson and Jessica Lynn Hart.
Mrs. O'Neal was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, John Clay O"Neal, one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Lynn Schrimscher and Roy, one grandson, Ethan Schrimscher; and one brother, Jimmy Hastings.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at noon in the funeral home chapel and burial will be in the Wilson Cemetery.
