George Raymond Lewis, 56, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Sunday, December 7, 2008, at his residence.
Mr. Lewis, son of the late Raymond and Geneva Katherine Farris Lewis, was born December 18, 1951, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He was a logcutter in the sawmill industry and was of the Baptist faith.
On August 14, 1971, he was married to Oneita Tharp at Ponder, Missouri. She survives.
Also surviving are one son; George Raymond Lewis II and wife, Rachel, of Wappapello, Missouri; two daughters, Oneita "Katie" Katherine Lewis of Cassville, Missouri, and Mary H. Lewis of Doniphan; and two sisters, Virginia Ann McDowell of Maryland and Patsy Ruth Brown of Doniphan.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening, December 9, 2008, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jarad Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis Cemetery.
