Timothy A. Martin, 58, of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life Tuesday morning, February 10, 2015, in rural Butler County, Missouri, as the result of a tragic automobile accident. Mr. Martin, son of Hardy and Lucille (Robinson) Martin, was born August 8, 1956, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He was a 1974 graduate of Doniphan High School. Tim received a computer technology degree from Linn Technical Institute and later attended TRCC and DeVry University for additional technological training. He was employed many years with Glenayre Electronics, Inc. in Quincy, Illinois, and concluded his career in Pennsylvania to be near his sister, Karen Doran. Tim was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed being on Current River; however, music was his passion. In 2013 he created the "Music In The Park" program in downtown Doniphan, regularly recruiting many local talents to entertain the general public on warm Friday evenings from late spring to early fall. Tim also volunteered to manage the sound at many public events and was the sound engineer at the Doniphan United Methodist Church. He was active in the Ripley County American Cancer Society Relay for Life, the Chamber of Commerce, the Methodist Church and the United Methodist men. Surviving are two sisters; Pat (and Bob) Griffin of Doniphan and Karen Doran of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; 3 nephews, Sam (Regina) Griffin of Doniphan, Matt (Angie) Griffin of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Dr. Tom (Tiffany) Doran of Johnston, Pennsylvania; 1 niece, Megan (Jason) Reeher of Grove City, Pennsylvania; 4 great-nephews, Spencer and Keegan Griffin of Doniphan, Julian Griffin of Poplar Bluff and Mason Doran of Johnston, Pennsylvania; and 2 great-nieces, Mercedes Gowen of Fairdealing, Missouri, and Norah Doran of Johnston, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hardy and Lucille Martin, one brother, Joe Martin and one brother-in-law, Dr. Glenn Doran. Tim was a pillar in the Doniphan community and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. A spring memorial service is being planned.
