Odie Fern Murdock, 82, of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life Saturday, February 7, 2015, at her residence in rural Ripley County.
Mrs. Murdock, daughter of James R. and Melenda Elizabeth (Rosson) Hagan, was born February 20, 1932, in Ponder, Missouri. She was a member of New Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting and playing the piano.
On February 23, 1950, she was married to Robert Russell Murdock in Pocahontas, Arkansas, and he preceded her in death on August 29, 1991.
Surviving are one son, Donnie Murdock of Doniphan; one sister, Ona Ester Elkins of Doniphan; two brothers, Wayne Ross Hagan of Springdale, Arkansas, and Ronald Hagan of Maine; two grandchildren, Tara Anne(Jason) and Jared(Elizabeth); and four great-grandchildren, Alex, J-Lynn, K-Lynn, Victoria.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Linda Fern Baker, one sister, Muriel Hagan, and 3 brothers, Vernon "Bud" Hagan, Edward Hagan and Bobbie Joe Hagan.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, February 11, 2015, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow Thursday morning, February 12, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with her grandson, Brother Jared Baker officiating. Burial will be in the Russell Cemetery.
