Agnes Maxine Wallar, 79, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Mrs. Wallar, daughter of Clifford and Christa (Gifford) Evans, was born July 7, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri. She had been a bookkeeper for a railroad company and later became a housewife. Mrs. Wallar was a volunteer ombudsman at several nursing homes and served on the Board of Independent Living of Southeast Missouri as a secretary. She was of the Mormon faith and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. On January 20, 1961, she was married to David Wallar at Englewood, Colorado, and he survives. Also surviving are three children: Christa Bethea of Lewisville, Texas; and Davalynn Jolly and Eva Prince, both of Doniphan; 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Robyn Wright, 2 grandsons, Scott and Hunter, and 2 brothers. Visitation will be held Thursday evening, February 5, 2015, from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow Friday morning, February 6, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel and burial will be in the Shirley Cemetery.
