Charles Floyd Gettings, 76, of Doniphan, died Wednesday May 4, 2011, at Current River Nursing Center.
Mr. Gettings was born October 3, 1934 to the late Elmer & Birdie (Parsley) Gettings in Ripley County, MO. Mr. Gettings was retired from General Motors.
On October 3, 1986, he married Merle Z. (Barnett) in Doniphan, MO. She survives.
Also surviving are one son Darrell Gettings and wife Tina of Fisk, two step-sons Vaughn Barnett of Charlotte MI and Troy Barnett of Jonesboro AR and one step-daughter Tressa Hubbard and husband Galen of Doniphan, one sister Bertha Bennett of Doniphan, Eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Ester Hurst and two brothers Lloyd Gettings and Jerry Gettings.
Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 PM at Edwards Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, at the Edwards Funeral Home at 10:30 am with burial following at Shirley Cemetery with Bro. Kent Harding and Bro. Jared Baker officiating.
