Donald W. "Don" Cooper, Sr., 78, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Sunday, December 26, 2010, at Ripley County Memorial Hospital in Doniphan.
Mr. Cooper, son of Charles and Leora (Passmore) Cooper, was born March 11, 1932, in Beardstown, Indiana. He was a roofer. Mr. Cooper loved the outdoors, the simple things of life and he especially enjoyed being with his grandchilden.
Surviving are four daughters; Debbie Caddy, Janice McLeod and her husband, David, and Becky Wells and her husband, Ron, all of Doniphan, Missouri, and Terry Jackson and her husband, Tommy, of Clarkton, Missouri; three sons, Donnie Cooper, Jr., and his wife, Sherri, and Tommy Cooper and his wife, Jackie, and Ronnie Cooper all of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; two sisters, Jenny Whittaker of Yucaipa, California, and Olive Querry of Winamac, Indiana; one brother, Harry Cooper of Winamac, Indiana; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening, December 29, 2010, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
