Obituary of Nina McGonigal

Nina Mae McGonigal, 58, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015, at her residence in rural Ripley County. Mrs. McGonigal, daughter of Junior Austin and Myrtle (Kelso) Wallace, was born December 12, 1956, in Doniphan. She had worked at Darling store fixture factory in Corning, Arkansas. Mrs. McGonigal enjoyed working in crafts and spending time with her grandchildren. She had been a Sunday School teacher. On July 23, 2001, she was married to Richard McGonigal in Success, Arkansas, and he survives. Also surviving are two children, Brian Byrd of Doniphan and Elisha Ferrell of Grandin, Missouri; 2 step-children, Josh McGonigal and Ethan McGonigal, both of Doniphan; her mother, Myrtle Wallace Buttram of Fairdealing; 2 sisters, Rose Patterson of Doniphan and Wanda Mahan of Success, Arkansas; 3 brothers, Joe Wallace of Doniphan, George Wallace of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and T. J. Wallace of Success, Arkansas; 3 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Junior Wallace. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, January 14, 2015, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral will take place Thursday morning, January 15, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Richard McGonigal officiating. Burial will follow at Cypress Creek Cemetery.
