Arthur James Nesbit, 95, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Thursday, November 13, 2008, at his residence.
Mr. Nesbit was born March 23, 1913, in Doniphan. He had been a union carpenter in St. Louis and enjoyed working as a handyman. Mr. Nesbit was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and had served with the U.S. Army. He attended the First Church of God in Doniphan.
On August 14, 1946, he was married to Glendene Bollenbacher in Doniphan. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons; Marvin Nesbit and Melvin (and Cindy) Nesbit of Doniphan; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Nesbit was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Louisa (Crutchfield) Nesbit; two brothers, Cleavy Nesbit and George Nesbit; and one sister, Ida.
Visitation will be Saturday evening, November 15, 2008, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. A graveside service will be held Sunday afternoon, November 16, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the Doniphan City Cemetery with Brother Hubert Payne officiating.
