Obituary of Vida Fletcher

Vida Marie Fletcher, 102, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015, at the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan.
Mrs. Fletcher, daughter of the late Chesley and Cora (Reed) Brewer, was born August 4, 1912, in Myrtle, Missouri. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, canning and tending to her flowers. Mrs. Fletcher was of the Baptist faith.
On February 17, 1930, she was married to George "Pete" Fletcher in Oregon County, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1980.
Surviving are four children: Virginia Turnbull of Cedar Hill, Missouri, Bonnie Sorrell and Doyle Fletcher, both of Doniphan, and Billy Fletcher of San Antonio, Texas; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Vala Dunkin and three brothers, Ralph Brewer, Kenneth Brewer and J. D. Brewer.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, January 6, 2015, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will take place Wednesday afternoon, January 7, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the burial to follow in the Tucker Cemetery. Officiating will be Paul Brewer.
