Obituary of Bryan Portwood

Bryan Scott Portwood, 44, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Sunday, November 2, 2008, at his residence. Mr. Portwood was born July 26, 1964, in Doniphan, Missouri. He was a sawmiller with Portwood Mill and Farm in Doniphan and was a member of Faith Seventh Day Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting in his spare time. Mr. Portwood was married to Carla Raie Stratton on September 28, 1985, and she preceded him in death March 4, 1997. On January 1, 2008, he was married to Jeanna Stratton in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She survives. Also surviving are two sons; Bryan Scott "Scooter" Portwood and Joshua Joseph Portwood, both of Doniphan; one step-son, Ethan Ray Lewis of the home; his father and mother, Castle Eugene Portwood of Doniphan and the late Dawanda Jean Portwood (Wyatt); two sisters, Beverly Siegler of Doniphan and Pamela Ehrenberg of Blue Springs, Missouri; three brothers, Larry Portwood of Morehouse, Missouri, and Dennis Portwood and Tony Portwood, both of Doniphan; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Ruby Stratton of Doniphan. Visitation will be Friday evening, November 7, 2008, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Saturday morning, November 8, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brother Bud Beacher officiating. Burial will follow in the Bennett Cemetery.
