Floyd Paul Dewitt Jr., 51 year old resident of Doniphan, died Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Saint Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Mr. Dewitt was born October, 1, 1963 in Covington, LA. He was a Boilermaker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking out the grandchildren.
On September 22, 1996 in Grandin, MO he was married to Pauline Maxwell, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Jama (Mick) Harris & Chasity Smith (Ernie Johnson) both of Doniphan; one son James "Jimmy" Smith of Doniphan; one sister, Kristal Dewitt of Grandin; two brothers, Tony Dewitt of Grandin and Walter (Julie) Dewitt of Ponchatoula, LA. His parents Floyd Sr. and Iris (Vining) Dewitt of Grandin; Grandchildren, Ricki Steinc, Philicity Steinc, Jasmine Steinc, Taylor Smith, Tayton Smith, Thomas Riley & Michael (Kayla) Sims; 1 great grandchild Emmy Sims and niece Stephanie (Chad) Egnew; nephew Todd Dewitt; great niece Laken Egnew; several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces & Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents, Bob & Mamie Vining; Paternal Grandparents Robert & Ida Mae Dewitt; mother & father-in-law Robert & Edna Maxwell.
Visitation will begin Monday Noon December 15, 2015. Funeral services for Mr. Dewitt will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 15, 2014 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Austin Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in the Pope Chapel Cemetery.
