Virginia Lea Capps, 91, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Sunday, October 5, 2008, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Mrs. Capps was born October 3, 1917, in Bloomfield, Missouri. She was retired from Butler County Family Services in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Mrs. Capps was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed refinishing and upholstering furniture. She was a member of the V.F.W. Post #3485 Ladies Auxiliary, Business and Professional Women's Club, Hobby Club and the Doniphan United Methodist Church.
On September 4, 1943, she was married to Cletis "Pete" Capps in South Dakota. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1973.
Surviving are one son, Mark Capps and his wife, Elizabeth, of Doniphan; one grandchild, Virginia Elizabeth (Betsy) Capps of Springfield, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Norman Capps of Poplar Bluff; and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Fred Foster and Veta (Cobb) Query and three sisters, Helen, Marian and Lillian.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 9, 2008, from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Doniphan City Cemetery.
