Otis Elijah Tierce, 77, of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life Sunday morning, September 21, 2014, at his residence in rural Doniphan.
Mr. Tierce, son of Elmer and Lavina (Furlong) Tierce, was born June 22, 1937, in Conran, Missouri. He had been an over-the-road truck driver and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Tierce was of the Pentecostal faith.
On December 4, 1962, he was married to Ollie Shoemate in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and she survives.
Also surviving are seven daughters: Elania Tillman, Shannon Stout and Robin Wagner, all of Doniphan; Kelly Shelton of Phoenix, Arizona; Johnette Belt of Dunn, North Carolina; Courtney Tierce of Summersville Missouri; and Hali Smedley of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; one sister, Martha Shoemate of Hannibal, Missouri; two brothers, Melvin Goode and Martin Goode, both of Malden, Missouri; and 5 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one son, one brother and two grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, September 24, 2014, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother James Gore officiating. Burial will be in the Amity Cemetery.
