Evelyn Pearson, 78 year-old resident of Doniphan, died Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan. Mrs. Pearson was born February 5, 1930, in Kensett, Arkansas. She was formerly a bank teller and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Doniphan. On February 9, 1948, in Kennett, MO she was married to Calvin G. Pearson, who preceded her in death February 17, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Ardieth Bizzell. Surviving are two daughters, Teresa Gale Pearson Lee of Doniphan; Phyllis Lynn Pearson Johnson of Lebanon, TN; one son, Calvin Glenn Pearson of Doniphan; two sisters, Mary Neal of Oceanside, CA; Velma Staffey of Doniphan; three brothers, Eugene Bizzell of Lawton, OK; Ted Bizzell of Arlington, TX; James Bizzell of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Kassy Danielle Pearson and Mitchell Glenn Pearson and Anthony James Lee; and great-grandchildren, Shakayla and Jayden Stone. Funeral services for Mrs. Pearson will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Fred Wiktorek officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Friday at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Bethany Cemetery.
