Leo Anderson, 91, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Sunday, April 17, 2011, at the John J. Pershing V. A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Mr. Anderson, son of Luther and Sallie (Clark) Williams, was born March 12, 1920, in Finley, Tennessee. He was a farmer and also delivered furniture for Garrison's Furniture Store and later Smith's Home Furniture, both of Doniphan. Mr. Anderson was a World War II veteran, having served with the Aviation Engineers and earned two Bronze Stars. He attended His Place Church. On June 8, 1947, he was married to Stella Elizabeth Knoblock at the Ripley County Courthouse in Doniphan. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2011. Surviving are three sons; Michael Leo Anderson and his wife, Linda, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Danny Lee Anderson and his wife, Karen, of Doniphan, Missouri, and Steve Alan Anderson and his wife, Mary Jane, of Poynor, Missouri; two daughters, Jeannie Arlyn Anderson of Poynor, Missouri, and Cheryl Ann Lovato and her husband, Tom, of Spokane, Missouri; two sisters, Dorothy Witte of Kewanee, Illinois, and Marie Lillian Borth of Galesburg, Illinois; one brother, Clark Luther Williams of Springville, Iowa; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one brother, Clifton Otis Williams. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, April 20, 2011, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow Thursday morning, April 21, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Ben Jordan officiating. Burial will be in the Sugar Tree Cemetery in Poynor with full military honors.
