Bertha Almeda Samons, 69, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Mrs. Samons, daughter of Uriel Q. and Rosella (Arnn) Thomas, was born September 24, 1944, in Blytheville, Arkansas. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Samons loved to sew and do crafts.
She was married to James F. Samons on July 28, 1963, in Corning, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on April 28, 2009.
Also preceding her in death are her parents and one daughter, Tamra Samons.
Surviving are one daughter, Tonya Barton of Doniphan; four sons, Kevin Samons, Arlan Samons, Patrick Samons and Brandon Samons, all of Doniphan; one sister, Debbie Moore of Doniphan; three brothers, James Thomas of Columbia, Missouri, and Roger Thomas and Darwin Thomas, both of Doniphan; and 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the family residence on Sunday afternoon, September 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.
