Obituary of Betty Ryan

Betty June Ryan, 82 year old resident of Doniphan, MO, died Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Current River Nursing Center.
Mrs. Ryan was born December 1, 1931, to the late Winford and Christene (Hood) McLeod, in Ripley County. She was a member of the West Doniphan Missionary Baptist Church and loved to sing, loved working in her vegetable and flower gardens and enjoyed quilting and fishing. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
On August 27, 1949, she was married to Acel Earl Ryan, who preceded her in death on January 30, 2004. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill McLeod and Duane McLeod.
Surviving are three daughters: Brenda Tipton, Nancy (and Howard) Haynes, Debbie (and David) Buckner, all of Doniphan; one son-in-law, Dennis Tipton of Doniphan; two sisters, Dorothy Smithson of Doniphan and Ruth Rathert of O'Fallon, MO; five granddaughters, one grandson, two step-grandsons, and thirteen great- grandchildren; and her fishing partner, Roland Miller of Doniphan.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ryan will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Hubert Payne officiating. Visiting will be from 5-8 P.M. Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Burial will be in the Towles Cemetery.
