Ethel T. Dalton, 100 year old resident of Gatewood, MO died Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mrs. Dalton was born January 28, 1911 in Reno, Arkansas. She had worked at Vitronic in Doniphan. She loved quilting, cooking, gardening, and especially being with family. On November 5, 1933, in Gatewood, she was married to Odes Dalton. He preceded her in death January 3, 2005. Also preceding her in death were here parents, Thomas and Lydia Davidson Hagar; one daughter, Wanda King; sisters, Lola Mae Holland, Annabelle Hagar, Genevieve Holland; brothers Raymond and Kenneth Hagar; and sister-in-law Golden McPheeters. Surviving are one daughter, Irene Eddington and her husband Irvin of Doniphan; one son, Tom Dalton and his wife Marilyn of Gatewood; one son-in-law, Dwyane King of Doniphan; brothers, Dewey Hagar and his wife Sadie of Edwards, Mississippi, and Roy Hagar and his wife Loraine of Petaluma, California; sisters-in-law Melba Hagar of Prather, California, and Sarah Hagar of Mississippi. Ethel is also survived by ten grandchildren, Eddie and Chrissy Wilson, Carolyn and Walter Lindley, Cindy and Donnie Duffey, Irvin and Tiffany Eddington, and Brad and Jessica Eddington; Brenda and Nace Pigg, Ronnie and Robin King; Sheila and Johnny Massey, Tommy Wayne and Tina Dalton, and Alison and Brad Hamlett; eighteen great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Haley Wilson, Jessica Wilson; Mandy and Cordell Lindsey, Tanya Jackson; Leslie and Nick Brasser, Natalie and Logan Monahan; Chloe and Emmalynn Eddington; Paige, Jake, and Madison Eddington; Michael and Megan Pigg; Ethan King, Samantha Massey, Ashley and Christopher Massey; Stetson Dalton; Caleb McNew and Jacob Hamlett; and nine Great, great grandchildren, Cord Lindsey, Jackson Hearne; Blake Brasser; Miken Pigg; Hunter and Bailey Grissom, Dalton Royer; Caden and Cameron Massey. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 18, 2011 at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with nephew Ray Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the Johnston Chapel cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Dalton will be held Sunday evening, April 17, 2011 from 5-8 P.M.
