Margie M. Thompson, 92, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan.
Mrs. Thompson, daughter of William "Todg" and Anne Bell (Tarpley) Jackson, was born June 8, 1922, in Essex, Missouri. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, flowers, crafts, quilting, sewing and she especially liked old country music.
She was married to Paul Thompson in Parma, Missouri, on January 2, 1940, and he preceded her in death on October 30, 1966.
Surviving are one daughter, Pauletta (Richard) Joyner of Doniphan; one sister, Nelda Miskel; one brother, "Dude" Jackson; and five grandchildren, Faith Cleveland, Misty Sewell, Eric Martin, Craig Martin and Paul Joyner; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters/sons-in-law, Laveda (and Lawson) Beacham, Jr., and Bernadine K. Lane; two sisters, Ora Lape and Lena Beene and two brothers, Sonny Buck and Bill (and Sara) Jackson.
Visitation will begin Saturday morning, July 26, 2014, at 11:00 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel and burial will be in the Poplar Bluff Memorial Gardens.
