Obituary of Chester Samons

Chester L. Samons , 71, of Branson, passed away April 13th, 2011 in his home. He was born June 4th, 1939 in Charleston, MO to James John Samons and Lola Belle (Hayes) Samons. Chester was united in marriage to Jewell Mae Richmond November 3rd, 1958. To this union 3 children were born; Jim, Linda and Cindy. He spent several years in Northern California working for Purity Stores and driving a bread truck on Highway 1 for Butternut Bread. When he returned to Missouri he worked selling Real Estate. Throughout his life, Chester also sold cars, mobile homes and insurance. He is survived by Jewell, of the home; son Jim and wife Tracy of Kissee Mills; Linda and husband Barry Jenkins of Kimberling City; Cindy and husband Kevin Reich of Branson and 4 extra special grandchildren; Chad Samons and Samantha Samons of Springfield, Hannah Reich and Keaton Reich of Branson. Three sisters; Mural Clark of Lebanon, Daphne Brown of Broken Arrow OK, Verneal Walker and husband Wilbur of Poplar Bluff. Two brothers: Pete and wife Roberta Samons of CA, Roy Lee and wife Linda Samons of MI; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and 8 brothers. His sense of humor and caring nature will be deeply missed by his friends and family. Memorial contributions can be made to Brookside Church, Branson, MO. Visitation will be held Friday, April 15th, 6 to 8 pm at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan MO. Funeral Service will be held at Edwards Funeral Home on Saturday, April 16th at 1 pm with Pastor Marvin Richards officiating.
