Larry David Ormsby, 65, lifelong resident of Ripley County, Missouri, died Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Mr. Ormsby was born January 15, 1949, in Ripley County to the late George and Hattie (Jackson) Ormsby. He had been self-employed in carpentry. Larry was a member of the Fox Hunters Club and enjoyed music.
On June 15, 1968, he married Elaine (Tillman) in Doniphan. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Dwayne Ormsby of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Ruth McAnally of Cleveland, Texas, and Phyllis Egland of Doniphan; two brothers, Ken Ormsby of Doniphan and Ron Ormsby of O' Fallon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Ethan Ormsby, Leeza Mattingly, Cortney Johannsen, Dustin Ormsby and Molly Mae Ormsby; three great-grandchildren, Paige, Kylee and Cutter; and his mother-in-law, Ethel Tillman.
Mr. Ormsby was preceded in death by one son, Jason Ormsby; one brother James Ormsby; and one sister, Wanda Fleetwood.
Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Jim Baggett officiating. Burial will be in the Center Hill Cemetery.
