Carol Dawn Allen, 73, of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at her residence in rural Doniphan.
Mrs. Allen, daughter of the late Marion and Wanda (Johnson) Sullivan, was born December 8, 1940, in Granite City, Illinois. She had worked in the kitchen at the Doniphan Nutrition Center. Mrs. Allen enjoyed fishing, picnics and being with her grandchildren.
On June 22, 1963, she was married to Robert Allen in Jerseyville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1970.
Surviving are two daughters, Dawn Payne and Roberta Swigert, and one son, Robert Allen; and 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Scott Allen and one sister, June Gilbreath.
Visitation will be held Saturday evening, May 31, 2014, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. A graveside service will take place Monday afternoon, June 2, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the Sunset Hills Cemetery in Glen Carbon, Illinois.
