Dorothy Linda Freeman, 84, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Monday, August 4, 2008, at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis. Mrs. Freeman was born July 25, 1924, in Miami, Florida. She was a self-employed daycare provider and a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Freeman enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking and raising children. On February 10, 1944, she was married to Charles Freeman, Jr. in Miami, Florida. He preceded her in death on May 29, 2001. She is survived by two daughters, Gaye Stafford of West Plains, Missouri, and Kaye Freeman of Doniphan; two sons, Ray Freeman of Doniphan and Jay Freeman of St. Louis, Missouri; two granddaughters that she raised, Melinda Wolford of Champagne, Illinois, and Wendy Czerwonka of West Plains, Missouri; and sixteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Freeman was also preceded in death by her parents, Memory Francis and Melinda Westmoreland McLeroy, and one daughter, Faye Freeman Scudder. Visitation will be Thursday evening, August 7, 2008, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Friday morning, August 8, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Sanders officiating. Burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Paragould Children's Home in Paragould, Arkansas.
