Judith Ann Tabor, 70, of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Southeast Health of Ripley County in Doniphan.
Mrs. Tabor, daughter of Joseph and Beatrice (Wegets) Schierhold, was born June 30, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri. She had retired from K-Mart Corporation in 1971 and moved to the family farm where she enjoyed crocheting, basket-weaving and reading. Mrs. Tabor was baptized at the East Side Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas in 1969. She had battled multiple cancers throughout many years but always handled her illness with grace and dignity.
On August 30, 1961, she was married to James E. Tabor in St. Louis, Missouri, and he survives.
Also surviving are one son, James E. Tabor, Jr., of Elba, New York; one granddaughter, Megan Tabor and one grandson, Nathan Tabor both of Elba, New York; two brothers, David and Joseph Schierhold of Farmington, Missouri; one sister, Janice Johnson of California, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation for Mrs. Tabor will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
