Beulah Mae Duncan Spencer, 94, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Monday, July 28, 2008, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Mrs. Spencer was born July 3, 1914, at Ponder, Missouri. She, along with her husband, Ottis, was an owner/operator of Spencer Shoe Store in Doniphan. Mrs. Spencer was a long-time member of the Doniphan First Baptist Church and she also participated in the church choir. She enjoyed and treasured her membership in the Tryphena Sunday School Class. On September 24, 1939, she married Ottis Spencer in Doniphan. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1998. Mrs. Spencer is survived by two nephews; Ted Duncan and his wife, Sylvia, of St. Peters, Missouri, and David Duncan and his wife, Tammy, and their children, Tori and Tara, of Abilene, Texas; one niece, Carole Goeke and her husband, Glenn, and their children, Jake and Jordan, of Florissant, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews by marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Alma McKinney Duncan, one sister-in-law, Clara Duncan, one half-sister, Lela Mossburger, and one brother, James R. Duncan. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, July 30, 2008, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Thursday morning, July 31, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brother Wade Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
