Obituary of Virginia Dykes

Virginia Elizabeth Dykes, 89, of Doniphan, Missouri, formerly of Texas, California, and Tennessee, died Sunday July 13, 2008, at Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan.
Mrs. Dykes was born November 16, 1918, in Denver, Colorado. She was a teacher and real estate agent.
On June 10, 1939, she was married to Percy Ray Dykes. He preceded her in death on August 1, 2006. Mrs. Dykes was also preceded in death by her parents, Herbert A. and Marie (McCutcheon) Frede Sr.; one brother, Herbert A. Frede Jr. and two sisters, Ishuan McCutcheon and Myrtle McCutheon.
She is survived by one daughter, Diane Silman, and husband, Paul, of Doniphan; two grandsons, Brent Dees and Jamie Dees, both of Doniphan; two great-grandchildren, Gavyn Dees and Paige Swafford; and three brothers, Clarence McCutcheon of Schulenburg, Texas, and Fred McCutcheon and Norman Frede both of Houston, Texas.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 17, 2008, from 5-8 p.m. and funeral services on Friday, July 18, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. with burial at the Bloomfield Veterans Cemetery. Edwards Funeral Home of Doniphan is in charge of arrangements.
