Glendene Nesbit, 93, life-long resident of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life Thursday evening, March 6, 2014, at the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan.
Mrs. Nesbit, daughter of Samuel and Clara (Raney) Bollenbacher, was born May 4, 1920, in Ripley County, Missouri. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Nesbit enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking and sewing and attended the First Church of God in Doniphan.
On August 14, 1946, she was married to Arthur James Nesbit at Doniphan. He preceded her in death on November 13, 2008.
Surviving are two sons: Marvin Nesbit and Melvin (and Cindy) Nesbit, both of Doniphan; one step-granddaughter and four step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers, Albert Bollenbacher, Wilfred Bollenbacher and William "Bill" Bollenbacher.
Visitation for Mrs. Nesbit will be held Sunday evening, March 9, 2014, from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. A graveside service will take place Monday afternoon, March 10, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Doniphan City Cemetery with Brother Larry Bashaw officiating.
