Dorothy Eudene Hunter Johnson, 72, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Saturday, June 14, 2008, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mrs. Johnson was born December 3, 1935, in Blum, Texas. She was a former owner of West Y Market and The Roost. A beloved mother, she loved to cook and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. In 1950 at Fort Worth, Texas, she was married to James Louis Hunter, a Korean War veteran with the U.S. Air Force. On May 8, 1956, she married Bobby Joe Johnson at Ft. Worth, Texas. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1996. She is survived by six children; Vickey Huffman of Pueblo West Colorado, Larry Hunter of Lavon, Texas, Wanda Meadors, Janie Hudson, Kathy Johnson and Julie Sisco, all of Doniphan, Missouri; one sister, Bobbie McGehee of Breckenridge, Texas; one sister-in-law, Carol Nuwman of Mesquite, Texas; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, B. H. Gaskill and Mary Jo Clinton Gaskill, and one daughter, Barbara Jo March. Visitation will be Monday evening, June 16, 2008, from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brother Troy Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Pope Chapel Cemetery.
