Helen Faye Proehl, 82, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Thursday, March 10, 2011, at the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan.
Mrs. Proehl, daughter of Louis Anton and Minnie Faye (Colyer) Bosch, was born April 11, 1928, in Council Grove, Kansas. She retired as a factory worker at Vitronic. Mrs. Proehl enjoyed flowers, gardening and cooking and was a member of His Place Church.
On January 31, 1950, she was married to Frederick William Proehl at Little Rock, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1985.
Surviving are three children; Robert Roy Orr of Tucker, Arkansas, Emilie Ann Proehl Sorrell and husband, Bill, of Jonesburg, Missouri, and Carl Lyle Proehl and wife, Debbie, of Doniphan, Missouri; two sisters, Pat Fischer of Council Grove, Kansas, and May Burden of Emporia, Kansas; six grandchildren, Patricia Cochran Koch Widell, Christie Sharda, Karen Nomee, Gary Orr, Jennifer Chapman, Scott Sorrell and Carla Proehl; and six great-grandchildren, Nicole, Loren, Cassandra, Analee, Renee and Noah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters, Anna Proehl and Louise Koch and one brother, Milo Bosch.
Visitation for Mrs. Proehl will begin Saturday morning, March 12, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brothers Ben and Jason Jordan officiating. Burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
