William Arthur (Art) Richmond, 73 year old resident of Doniphan, died Friday, November 8, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Richmond was born January 12, 1940, in Thayer, Missouri. He had worked in the Timber industry and also was the owner-operator of Art's Diesel Service for 30+ years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and of the Baptist Faith. Art loved spending time with his family and friends, woodworking, music, singing, and dancing.
On July 18, 1959, in Ripley County, he was married to Barbara Carter, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Rose Neels and husband Larry of Doniphan; one son, Arthur Ray Richmond and wife Sharon of Doniphan; three sisters, Vera Black of Forest, MS; Pam Leach and husband Doyle of Lake, MS; Debbie Boykin and husband Wendell of Dallas, Tx; two brothers, Raymond Richmond and wife June of Columbus, MS; Ronnie Richmond and wife Nancy of Forest, MS; two grandchildren, Michael Ray Richmond and Crystal Neels Griffin and her husband Joe. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
His parents, Ray and Ome Rook Richmond and an infant brother Claude Russell Richmond preceded him in death.
Funeral services for Mr. Richmond will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 11, 2013 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. Sunday evening. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
