Doris Price, 91, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Monday, May 26, 2008, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Price was born February 18, 1917, in Cooter, Missouri. She was a retired schoolteacher, having taught for 41 years. Mrs. Price was a member of the Doniphan United Methodist Women, Doniphan PEO, Junior Fiction Club, Tuesday Club, Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Organization, Missouri State Teachers Association, Missouri Retired Teachers Association and several bridge clubs. She held various positions in all organizations. Mrs. Price was a lifelong member of the Doniphan United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for 22 years. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles and was dedicated to education. On August 6, 1950, she was married to Crawford Price at Steele, Missouri. He survives. Also surviving are two sons, Dr. Mike Price and wife Sandie of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and James Randal Price and wife Kathy of Marlton, New Jersey; special niece, Cecilia Fredrick and husband Paul of Grandin, Missouri; five grandchildren, Sheldon Scott Price and Taylor Nathaniel Price both of Poplar Bluff and Steven James Price, Kelsey Kathleen Price and Rachel Marie Price, all of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her parents, Coleman Barnett and Mary Webb Barnett, one sister, Christine Gitchelle, and four brothers, J. D. Barnett, Loyd Barnett, Alton Barnett and Coleman Barnett. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, May 28, 2008, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. Funeral services will be Thursday morning, May 29, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brother Kent Wilfong officiating. Burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Doniphan United Methodist Church or the Poplar Bluff Public School Foundation, 1110 N. Westwood Blvd., Poplar Bluff, MO 63901
