Delma M. "Chub" Pender, 95 year old resident of Doniphan, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013 in the Current River Nursing Center. Mrs. Pender was born June 4, 1918 to the late William and Ellen McArath Dixon, in Oklahoma. She was a member of the Lingo Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, flowers, and cats. She had worked as a cook and retired from Vitronic.
On August 18, 1938, in Alton, MO, she was married to Gardner W. Pender. He preceded her in death January 9, 1982.
Also preceding her in death was one son, Lenn Pender, two brothers and two sisters.
Surviving is one daughter, Ellan Pender Mitchell and husband Harold of Doniphan; one daughter in law, Sharon Pender of Gatewood; three grandchildren, Regina Cole, David Pender, and Clint Pender; three great-grandchildren, Devon Cole, Jessica Cole, and Charles William Cole, Sr.; four great-great-grandchildren, Austin Cole, Sierra Kotzur, Charles William Cole, Jr., and Grace Lynn Cole.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Pender will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, October 18, 2013 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Lee Reed officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 A.M. on Friday, October 18, 2013. Burial will be in the New Home Cemetery.
